Welcome as a new patient of Island Internal Medicine. The following will acquaint you with our medical providers, answer some common questions, and advise you of our office polices.
Patient News
-Island Internal Medicine will be relocating August 1st. The office on M Avenue will close, and our new address will be 912 32nd Street.
-We offer a program called Care Credit to help with those that have no insurance or a high deductible. Ask at the office or see www.carecredit.com for more information.
Office Hours and Appointments
We see patients in the office from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. There are two offices for your convenience. Anacortes at 2511 M Ave. Suite C and La Conner at 528 Maple. Appointments must be made in advance. If you have an urgent problem, one of our providers will usually be able to see you that day. If you are unable to come to your scheduled appointment, we require that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance so that we may allocate that time to another patient. Patients who arrive late, cancel without sufficient notice, or miss scheduled appointments 3 or more times will be dismissed from the practice.

Scope of Practice
Internal Medicine is a broad primary care specialty which focuses on adult medical problems. We diagnose and treat conditions of the heart lungs, kidneys, GI system, endocrine system and musculoskeletal system. We offer screening for patients at risk for cancers including breast cancer, cervical cancer (Pap smear), prostate cancer, and colorectal cancer among others. We handle routine medical issues as well complicated problems, and can care for most of our patients’ needs. Internists have intensive care and hospital medicine training, so we provide both inpatient (hospital) and office care. We will always refer you to a specialist when needed.

Our focus is to provide scientifically based, up to date, and personalized medical care. We recognize the rights and responsibilities of individuals to participate in the process of their health care needs.
